Organisation Tips

Hey guys, A while back I've created a post, about Tips to study, But not many of us need help with studying and in fact, need help with being a bit preparation, or for general uses! Let's take a look at a couple of things that I do to help  me stay organised:

1) Create your own Binder:

As much as this one is a no brainer, Creating your own binder helps you so much + it's pretty easy to make one too. Grab a Pre-made one (or go creative and make your own!) Label each subject, you can colour code them based on which subject, to neatly arrange them, or simply place them in order.

Don't forget to put in some dividers, to further separate each subject. Put in some blank paper for quick notes, reminders and lists!

2) Invest on a Planner:

A Planner, will work for many people, and it's pretty easy to keep track of one too. Plan out the things you'll do, where you will go at what time, when your gonna study, your daily schedule, your chores etc. Update it every week and make sure you check it every single day. Carry it with you when you go to school, or uni, when you go to a family member's house or simply keep it in your room. Everybody has their own way of organising based on what they do daily.

If you can't find a pre-made planner or agenda, make your own! Grab a blank notebook, fill in the dates for each week, separate 2 pages for daily uses, and 2 pages for weekly uses, and make sure to fill in a small calendar at the end of the month, you can draw in your own, or print them online then stick them to the paper. Your planner is for YOU! Not for other people to judge how you use it.

3) Small Notebooks ARE BETTER!

When you write down notes and stuff, you tend to prefer a bigger notebook therefore, you won't have to constantly go and buy new notebooks, BUT! for me, Buying smaller notebooks all at once is much better!

First things first, big notebooks take so much room! whether it's in your bag or desk, plus it's heavier, why would you go through all that trouble just to manage with one notebook (per subject) in your back,

Second thing, finding information is easier in smaller notebooks, whether you put down a contents page, or mark it with a sticky note, your less likely to lose the page when studying.

Third of all, They generally look better than big notebooks! Seriously! I know it's not about looking better at the end of the day, but I mean when it's a smaller notebook, you tend to use the pages wisely, and not scribble about and waste pages in a book notebook.....DALAL.

4) Plan ahead of time

Everybody tends to make plans, and eventually forget at least one of them someday, and believe me, I know the struggles that causes. So in order to avoid that kind of situation, Plan days before the get-together, event, whatever.

You can plan in many different ways, either record them in your planner, in a calendar, in a notification on your phone, on stick it notes (although this one isn't very organised) Keep your options open.

5) Good Night's Sleep

Tell me, you have never woke up and almost arrived late to class, or work or even worse? actually ARRIVED LATE! What to do? this will take a few nights and a few tries to master, eventually Your sleeping schedule will get fixed on its own, however we have to train ourselves to keep that order arranged. How do we do that?

  • Set up a time to sleep every day
  • Try To Wake Up The Same time everyday (record it in your journal or whatever)
  • Get at least 7 and a half Hours of sleep everyday
  • Avoid sleeping in the afternoon, unless you have to stay late.

6) Increase Storage

The more storage for pens, papers, and notebooks you have is much better than having them lying around the place. Buy Shelves, Mason Jars, Folders etc. To Keep everything in one place.

Mason Jars can be used to store pens, pencils, erasers, highlighters, scissors, rulers, etc.
Shelves can be used to arrange your books, notepads and electric gadgets.

Folders can be used to store documents, homework, lists etc.

7) Clean Your Room Every week

Yes, it is one of the most painful things ever, Making your bed everyday and cleaning your desktop! (not the screen on your computer lol) Arranging your books and organising your surfaces. But oh well, we have to deal with it!

Have a positive attitude towards it, pick out bedsheets and pillowcases you like, make your bed the first thing you do in the morning, it really helps you realise your awake, and helps you stay a bit more active when you go brush your teeth and wash your hair.
